An artwork by Marieken Verheyen can be seen on the facade of flat Kruitberg in the Bijlmermeer in Amsterdam. The art project realized by Iwaarden, consists of a combination of a mural, milled texts and light lines.
Realization of the art object
The artwork (11 x 31m) consists of painted continents on a blue background. Texts and light lines have been attached on top of it. The continents have been manually drawn on the wall and painted with grey paint. All names and texts are milled from 10 mm thick plastic, painted in gold metallic and attached to the painted wall using a mounting kit. The meridians of the globe are executed in neon and positioned over the mural, creating a wonderful atmosphere in the evening.
