A play of light and color brings the facade of the NEMO Science Museum to life

In search of the perfect balance

The core of this design lay in finding the right balance between color intensity and transparency. A bold color scheme often comes at the expense of light transmission, yet it was precisely the interplay between the two that determined the spatial effect.

In collaboration with Studio MAST, various material and color studies were conducted. This meticulous exploration resulted in a film application that seamlessly combines aesthetics and functionality.

The design gains extra depth through a subtle 3D effect. By applying sections of the film to both sides of the glass, a dynamic image is created that changes with the movement of visitors and the shifting light. In this way, the signage becomes an integral part of the architecture: a layered intervention that connects space, light, and experience.

Collaboration that makes an impact

This project proves that successful signage goes beyond technology alone. Working closely with Studio MAST, we combined creative design and specialized film techniques into a single, powerful whole. Thanks to flexible project management and a tight schedule—despite changing weather conditions—we were able to ensure quality throughout the entire process.

The result? A dynamic entrance where color, light, and movement come together. The window films reinforce the museum’s identity, enrich the visitor experience, and immediately spark curiosity about what’s happening inside. A project in which design, innovation, and craftsmanship reinforce one another and leave a lasting impression.
